How to brew coffee
This may depend on how often you drink coffee and how much time you have. If you lead a busy life make time at the weekend to enjoy proper coffee.
The correct grind
This is a really important factor. To make the perfect cup of coffee you need the correct size of grind for your chosen method. This is because different coffee machines use different coffee making processes and to be sure to get that rich and fuller flavour every time you need to know how quickly the water can absorb the flavour and aroma from the coffee grinds.
So for Espresso which is made quickly you need a fine grind to maximise the surface area but for a cafetiere, in which the coffee steeps in the water for a few minutes, you need a coarser grind.
This is why when you purchase coffee with us our Team will always ask what type of grind you require or what coffee making machine you have.
Caffeine-free Chemical or water
There are different ways to remove caffeine using either chemical or water processes. The Swiss Water method is considered one of the best and we only stock decaffeinated coffee made this way.
Speciality or rare coffees
Coffee is very similar to wine in the sense that the taste varies depending on where it was grown and how it was cultivated. Climate and soil type can really influence the end result. It may be mass produced or come from a small single estate such as the famous Jamaica Blue Mountain which we stock. The higher price of this coffee is mainly due to the fact that only a small amount is grown making it rarer and considered more special. Many people assume it will be a strong coffee but in truth it is a lovely medium strength coffee that is light and smooth tasting.
